Usage Information

In order to get the most benefit from this medication, use it regularly and at the same time each day. This drug is metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 enzymes to an active metabolite which is responsible for most of the drug activity.

Dosage

Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually once daily or as suggested by doctor. Those patients who has impaired liver function, 50% reduction in dosage is recommended.

Interactions

Though there is no significant drug interactions have been found. However inhibitors of cytochrome P450 such as ketoconazole have been shown to inhibit the formation of the active drug metabolite.

Side Effects

Common side effects are diarrhea, muscle cramps, dizziness, insomnia and nasal congestion.
